Duties and responsibilities:
To undertake clinical procedures that require dexterity and accuracy this includes scrubbing for a full range of basic and complex interventional cardiology procedures and assisting with cardiology patient care - Angiogram/Angioplasty, IVUS, Complex EP, TAVI, PFO, ASD, LAO, Mitral TEER, Complex devices - CRT/p/d, ICD, Leadless PPM, PPM's, Vascular casesTo assist in the non-invasive cardiology services within the Outpatient Department where appropriate; acting as a subject matter expert to other staff.To provide cardiology support to ward; acting as a subject matter expert to other staff.To complete Cardiology Pre-assessment on patients requiring procedures in the catheter lab/OPD environment. Including supporting and facilitating MDT where required.To provide and aspire to a regional centre of excellence approach to the service.To provide overall support for the Spire Nottingham cardiology service in line with other clinical nursing duties. This will include but is not limited to driving safety standards in cardiology, liaising proactively with theatres, OPD and Wards to maintain a safe and effective cardiology service. Degree (BSc Hons) or equivalent (minimum qualification)Substantial experience as an RGN within a cardiology catheter lab environment scrubbing for routine and complex cardiology procedures and circulating - with at least 3 years' experienceExperience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixesCompetent to challenge consultants to influence evidence-based practice and share evidence-based practices with colleagues to enhance service standards.Experience of working in partnership with consultants and participating in creating innovative solution for the serviceHigh standard of clinical practiceCompetent across a range of cardiology skills supported by professional competence and knowledgeAble to use evidence-based practice to provide high standards of care.Possess equipment and medical devices competenciesKeeps abreast of developments in own specialism - Continuing Professional Development.
