Job Description
We are recruiting for Survey Assistants to join the Planning and Economy Service to play an important role in surveying, data gathering, mapping and analysis that will input into a range of place-based and research projects, principally undertaking fieldwork to update Aberdeenshire Council's Facilities Monitor. This project is undertaken every two years and tracks and monitors changes in the provision of services in settlements across Aberdeenshire and enhances access to place-based information supporting planning and decision-making, including the Local Development Plan.
The role would suit an individual that is motivated and enthusiastic, and will offer a great opportunity to be involved with a wide range of activities and projects across the whole of Aberdeenshire. The successful candidate will be supported into the job. This role is a perfect opportunity for anyone wanting to gain an insight into the practical workings of a planning authority, including seeing how in practice the Planning (Scotland) Act 2is being implemented whilst gaining valuable planning experience.
You will work alongside council officers and be responsible for supporting work that makes a positive difference in our communities and support our ambitions for the area.
