We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Research Fellow in the Paediatric Department based at Whipps Cross Hospital. This is a 12-month fixed term contract starting from September, as part of the medical team the post holder will also be providing a clinical service in paediatric A&E department, paediatric assessment unit, Children’s outpatient department, labour ward and postnatal wards as appropriate.

Barts Health’s education academy aims to support high quality training to NHS staff through various services. The trust is committed to offering learning and development opportunities for all full-time and part-time employees.

Your primary base will be Whipps Cross Hospital. However, there may also be a requirement for you to attend other hospitals within the Trust where appropriate for work or training

This is a full-time position 40 hours per week (50% Clinical and 50% research).
The Paediatric department is based at Whipps Cross Hospital and is part of the Children’s Clinical Board and Network within Barts Health, you will be joining a medical department that currently has 14 Consultant Acute Physicians and 32 Junior Doctors
Whipps Cross Hospital provides a comprehensive acute paediatric and neonatal service in Northeast London. Waltham Forest has a child population (0-16) of approximately 60,000 but children from surrounding boroughs are also seen at Whipps Cross Hospital. The hospital serves Waltham Forest, Redbridge and parts of Epping Forest.
The Paediatric unit works with the Children’s Home Care Nursing Team, based at Wood Street Child Development Centre. The team supports children of all ages at home who have medical needs e.g. gastrostomy, diabetes, oxygen dependency, daily IV antibiotics, home ventilation and end of life care.
